People and Plants
Handbook
The People and Plants Handbook was begun in January 1996 to provide
a handy source of information on ethnobotany, conservation and development, and to enable
ethnobotanists and others in developing |
| countries to be in touch with one another and with a wider
global network. English versions are sent to colleagues and institutions in over 80 countries
and Spanish versions to appropriate recipients, mainly in Latin America and Spain.
Some of the contacts given, especially in earlier issues,
may be out-of-date – they are not updated on this website. See
Ethnobotany Links for regularly
updated bibliographies and information on organizations.
With the latest Handbook (Issue 8), the function of the Handbook has changed, from a
thematic to a wise-practices focus, reflecting news of People and Plants activities.
Earlier issues are no longer available in printed form, but most can be accessed on this website, in either html or pdf format.
